Ever-resilient Kim Chiu continues to strive hard for her family

Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition winner, Kim Chiu, has come a long way from being a teenage success story to one of the most bankable stars of this generation. She continues to walk along the roads of success with her family as her source of inspiration.
Considered as one of the most sought-after young actresses of today, Kim, was able to build a home for her and her siblings with her earnings from her numerous television and movie projects, countless shows in and out of the country, not to mention, her many endorsements from various brands.
In the July issue of Star Studio Magazine, Kim shared her dream house that she personally designed with the help of her interior decorator. The multi-million house, which settles on a 600 meter lot in a posh village in Quezon City, was adorned by feng shui good luck figures from the wooden doors to the dining chairs. It also has its own pool, a sound proof mini-theater, make-up salon, modern kitchen, play room, and a cozy entertainment area.
Kim’s siblings, Lakambini, Twinkle, and William, also have their own rooms in the house apart from the actress’ lavishly-designed room. Known for her love of anything pink, it is no wonder that Kim’s spacious room used an eye-catching pink as its key color. Described as a loft within a home, Kim’s room has a Jacuzzi and a sauna in her bathroom. The third floor is a walk-in closet that displays all of her designer bags, clothes, accessories, and shoes.
During an interview on Kris TV last July 8, Kim shared with host Kris Aquino that it was her long time dream to build a home that her family can call their own. Tearful, the 21-year old actress said she still could not believe that she is finally living in her dream house.
She is also grateful for her career especially her supporters because if not for them, she would not be having all the blessings she has right now.
It was also through show business that the young actress was able to graduate from high school and send her other siblings to school. Eyeing a course in business in college on 2012, Kim was happy to say in a report from Push.com.ph posted April 13, 2011, that her dreams are slowly beginning to come true.
“Tapos ko na yung pag-aaral ko, natayo ko na yung dream house ko. Yung mga kapatid ko unti-unti na silang natatapos ng pag-aaral, isa na lang, graduate na rin yung isa so ‘yun, masaya naman. Kapag may pangarap naman ang isang tao, kapag gusto mo talaga, maaabot mo naman iyon, yun ang motto ko sa buhay.”
Proud of all her achievements, Kim elaborated during her interview with Kris that she wanted to provide a house for her family because they had to share one bed that was in the same room as the kitchen, dining room, and the comfort room before.
Growing up with an absentee father and a mother who left her and her siblings when she was 12, Kim said that they were raised by their relatives so they had to move from Tacloban City, to Cebu, and Mindoro, from time to time. When asked of her parents, the Filipino-Chinese actress became emotional last August 14, 2011 in The Buzz when she revealed to the host, Boy Abunda that she still has not heard from her parents until now.
Although she had long forgiven her parents, Kim said that she does not want her future family to experience what she has gone through. She believes that parents are the ones that should emulate a good example to their kids.
Recalling Kim’s controversial split-up last year with her former love team partner and rumored boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, Kim bravely answered Abunda regarding her feelings about being separated from a partnership that has gained an overwhelming support from fans not only in the Philippines, but abroad as well.
Kim said that she was thankful for every experience in love
including the hurt she felt. The actress also stressed
that her detachment from Gerald had made her stronger person which was why she did not hold grudges against anyone. She even that she and Gerald are doing “okay” and that her friendship with the actor even grew deeper than it was before.

“Hanggang ngayon nandiyan siya, ‘pag may problema ako, ‘pag ‘di ko na kaya, kinakausap ko siya. Nakikinig siya.”
Top billing a TV series for the first time without Gerald via My Binondo Girl, Kim said in an interview with Push.com.ph last August 4, 2011 that she is thankful that her fans still support her and Gerald’s career even though they are being paired with other actors and will not be working together for a while. Kim is paired to Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli, and Jolo Revilla in the newest primetime offering of ABS-CBN.

In My Binondo Girl, Kim plays the role of Jane, a daughter of a Chinese man who decided to pretend to be a man to win his father’s approval and affection. Not only does it mirror the Chinese community living in Binondo, Manila, My Binondo Girl also features a roster of award-winning actors like Gina Pareño, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and Cherry Pie Picache. It recently premiered last August 23.
